Retraction, Correction, and Editorial Expression of Concern Policy

Bayrakol Medical Publishing adheres to the COPE Retraction Guidelines, ICMJE Recommendations, WAME standards, and PubMed/PMC archival requirements to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record. All corrections, retractions, and editorial expressions of concern are issued transparently and remain permanently accessible.

Corrections (Erratum)

Corrections are issued when minor errors are identified that do not affect the overall results or conclusions of the article. Examples include:

  • Typographical or formatting errors
  • Mislabeling of tables or figures
  • Incorrect author affiliations or funding information
  • Technical issues that do not compromise scientific validity

Corrections are linked to the original article and remain permanently available in accordance with PubMed/PMC standards.

Retractions

Retractions are issued when the findings are no longer reliable or when serious ethical or legal issues are identified. Situations requiring retraction include:

  • Fabrication, falsification, or serious methodological errors
  • Confirmed ethical misconduct
  • Plagiarism or duplicate publication
  • Unauthorized use of patient data or lack of consent
  • Legal or copyright violations

Retracted articles remain accessible but are clearly marked as “Retracted”. A detailed retraction notice explaining the reason is permanently linked to the original manuscript.

Editorial Expressions of Concern

An Editorial Expression of Concern may be issued when:

  • An investigation into potential misconduct or error is ongoing
  • There is uncertainty about the reliability or integrity of the findings
  • Institutional or legal reviews delay a final decision

This notice alerts readers to possible issues while the investigation continues.

  • Remain permanently available online
  • Are directly linked to the original article
  • Provide a transparent and detailed explanation
  • Follow PubMed/PMC indexing requirements
