Data Availability Policy
Bayrakol Medical Publishing supports transparency, reproducibility, and integrity in scientific research. Authors are strongly encouraged to make all underlying data, materials, and analysis files publicly available in recognized, secure, and properly indexed data repositories.
Recommended Data Repositories
Authors may deposit datasets in reputable repositories such as:
- Dryad
- Figshare
- Zenodo
- Open Science Framework (OSF)
- GenBank, GEO, SRA, or subject-specific repositories for biological data
Repository links and dataset identifiers (e.g., DOIs or accession numbers) must be provided in the manuscript.
When Data Cannot Be Shared
If data cannot be shared due to legal, ethical, privacy, proprietary, or patient-confidentiality restrictions, authors must clearly justify the limitation within the manuscript. Acceptable reasons include:
- Patient privacy or identifiable health information
- Restrictions imposed by institutional review boards (IRBs) or ethics committees
- National or international data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
- Confidential commercial, clinical trial, or proprietary data
In such cases, authors should provide a statement describing how qualified researchers may request limited or controlled access when possible.
Data Availability Statement
All manuscripts must include a Data Availability Statement outlining how and where the data can be accessed. Examples include:
- “All data generated or analyzed during this study are available in the following repository…”
- “Data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
- “Due to privacy restrictions, data cannot be made publicly available; however, de-identified data may be provided upon approval.”
Publisher Commitment
Bayrakol Medical Publishing promotes open science principles and encourages authors to share data whenever ethically and legally feasible. Transparency in data availability supports reproducibility and strengthens the scientific record.
