Responsible authorship
Bayrakol Medical Publishing is committed to responsible authorship and transparent reporting of individual contributions. All journals follow the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and publication ethics principles of COPE and WAME.
AUTHORSHP CRITERIA
Substantive contribution
Clear accountability
Each listed author must meet all criteria below.
- Make a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
- Participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
- Approve the final version before publication.
- Accept responsibility and accountability for the accuracy and integrity of the work.
Individuals who do not meet all authorship criteria should not be listed as authors.

Each submission must include an Author Contributions statement using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to clearly describe each author's individual contributions.

CORRESPONDING AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary accountability
Throughout submission
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria; obtaining approval of the final manuscript from all authors; ensuring the accuracy of author information and affiliations; and serving as the primary contact with the journal throughout submission, peer review, and publication.
CHANGES TO AUTHORSHIP
Changes are reviewed
With written agreement
Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must include a written explanation and written agreement from all authors. Such requests are evaluated by the editorial office before any change is made.
NON-AUTHOR CONTRIBUTORS
Acknowledge what matters
With permission
Individuals whose contributions do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately with their permission.

- General supervision
UNACCEPTABLE AUTHORSHIP PRACTICES
Not permitted
Under any circumstance
The following practices are unacceptable:
- Guest authorship
- Gift (honorary) authorship
- Ghost authorship
- Purchased or sold authorship
- Misrepresentation of individual contributions
Confirmed violations may result in appropriate editorial action, including manuscript rejection, correction, retraction, or notification of the relevant institutions.
AUTHORSHIP DISPUTES
Handled responsibly
Through authors and institutions
Authorship disputes should be resolved by the authors and their institutions. Where necessary, cases are handled in accordance with applicable COPE guidance.
