The journals published by Bayrakol Medical Publishing follow internationally recognized publication ethics principles and editorial best practices consistent with the recommendations of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors), and WAME (World Association of Medical Editors).
Authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher share responsibility for ensuring ethical, transparent, and trustworthy scholarly communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF AUTHORS

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy, transparency, and integrity of their work throughout the publication process.
- Submit original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- Ensure the accuracy of data, analyses, and interpretations.
- Properly acknowledge and cite all relevant sources and contributions.
- Disclose all conflicts of interest, funding sources, and required ethical approvals.
- Meet the ICMJE authorship criteria.
- Provide underlying data when reasonably requested for editorial verification, where applicable.
Authors must not fabricate, falsify, or manipulate data, images, or research findings. Research involving human participants or animals must have appropriate ethics approval and informed consent where required.

Reviewers play a vital role in safeguarding the integrity of scholarly publishing. Peer review should be objective, confidential, timely, and conducted solely to improve the quality of the manuscript.
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all manuscript materials.
- Declare and avoid any conflicts of interest.
- Report suspected ethical concerns, plagiarism, or research misconduct to the editor.
- Base recommendations solely on scientific merit and evidence.
Reviewers must not use confidential or unpublished information obtained through peer review for personal, academic, or commercial advantage.

Editors are responsible for ensuring fair, independent, transparent, and evidence-based editorial decision-making throughout the publication process.
- Ensure fair, unbiased, and independent editorial decision-making.
- Manage conflicts of interest appropriately.
- Follow established publication ethics procedures when addressing suspected publication misconduct.
- Ensure transparency and confidentiality throughout the peer-review process.
- Protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific merit, originality, ethical compliance, and relevance of submitted manuscripts, without discrimination or inappropriate influence.
FORMS OF PUBLICATION MISCONDUCT
What Bayrakol treats as misconduct
Bayrakol Medical Publishing considers the following practices to constitute publication misconduct. The list is illustrative and not exhaustive.
- Plagiarism Plagiarism, including unattributed copying, inappropriate text reuse, or inadequate attribution.
- Fabrication or Falsification Fabrication or falsification of data, images, research findings, or other scholarly records.
- Duplicate Submission Submitting the same or substantially similar manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.
- Duplicate Publication Redundant publication of the same or substantially overlapping work without appropriate disclosure.
- Inappropriate Authorship Gift, guest, ghost, or honorary authorship, or omission of eligible contributors.
- Peer-Review Manipulation Manipulation of the peer-review process, including fraudulent reviewer identities or interference with editorial evaluation.
- Ethical Violations Research involving human participants or animals without required ethics approval or informed consent, where applicable.
- Citation Manipulation Inappropriate citation practices intended to artificially influence citation metrics or scholarly impact.
All allegations of publication misconduct are assessed confidentially and investigated in accordance with established publication ethics procedures. Where appropriate, editorial actions may include manuscript rejection, correction, expression of concern, retraction, notification of relevant institutions, or other measures necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
CONSEQUENCES OF ETHICAL VIOLATIONS
Actions Taken to Protect the Scholarly Record
Confirmed violations of publication ethics may result in one or more of the following editorial actions, depending on the nature, severity, and circumstances of the case.
- Rejection of the manuscript.
- Publication of a Correction (Erratum or Corrigendum), where appropriate.
- Publication of an Expression of Concern.
- Retraction of the published article.
- Notification of the author's institution, employer, or funding agency, where appropriate.
- Restrictions on future submissions, where appropriate.
Bayrakol Medical Publishing reserves the right to take any additional editorial action necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record. All allegations of publication misconduct are assessed confidentially and investigated in accordance with the COPE Core Practices and applicable COPE guidance.
