A Rare Cause of Intestinal Obstruction: Partial Abdominal Cocoon

Sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis (or abdominal cocoon) is a rare condition that results in an intestinal obstruction due to total or partial encapsulation of the small bowel by a fibrocollagenous membrane that looks like a cocoon. We report a case of a patient who presented with a mild intestinal obstruction and showed typical computed tomography (CT) finding of an abdominal cocoon.
